A great man once said, "You shall know the TRUTH, and the TRUTH shall set you free!"
I know what you are thinking, and, yes, Martin Luther King, Jr. was a great man, but he is not the man to which I am referring. The great man that I am referring to is none other than the Son of God, the Lord Jesus Christ. John 8:31-32 says, "Jesus therefore was saying to those Jews who had believed Him, 'If you believe in My word, then you are truly disciples of Mine; and you shall know the truth, and the truth shall set you free.'"
God created us to have a love relationship with Him, but sin separated us from Him. So God sent His one and only Son, Jesus Christ, to atone for that sin and bridge the gap between us and Him. Jesus, a sinless, perfect man, willingly died a horrible death on a cross for us so that we can have that love relationship with God by covering our sin. It is because of Jesus Christ (who is the absolute truth) that we can be set free from sin

Romans 5:8 But God demonstrates His own love toward us, in that while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us.
Romans 3:23 For all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God.
Romans 6:23 For the wages of sin is death, but the free gift of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord.
John 1:12,13 But as many as received Him, to them He gave the right to become children of God, even to those who believe in His name, who were born not of blood, nor of the will of the flesh, nor of the will of man, but of God.
Mark 1:15 The time is fulfilled, and the kingdom of God is at hand; repent and believe in the Gospel.
"Well," you say. "What does this mean to me?" Without Jesus, the bridge of Truth, you have nothing to cover the sin in your life. Everyone thinks they are a "good" enough person to go to Heaven. But are they? Who is to say?
Have you ever lied, or stolen something from someone? Everyone has, and that is just a couple of sins...let's not get into all of them because the point is, just like Romans 3:23 says, we all are sinners.
IS YOUR HEART PUMPING IN YOUR CHEST YET? If you have read this and you are wondering what to do next, well, here it is....
REPENT: Turn away from your sin and believe in Jesus. Acts 2:38 tells us, "Repent, and let each of you BE BAPTIZED in the name of Jesus Christ for the forgiveness of your sins; and you shall receive the gift of the Holy Spirit (Truth)..."
GET INVOLVED IN A CHURCH: Acts 2:42 says, And they were continually devoting themselves to the apostles teaching and to fellowship, to the breaking of bread, and PRAYER.
READ THE HOLY BIBLE: Psalm 119:105 Thy word is a lamp to my feet and a light to my path. Psalm 119:11 Thy word I have hidden in my heart, that I might not sin again Thee. THE WORD OF GOD will change you: Hebrews 4:12 For the word of God is living and active and sharper than any two-edged sword, and piercing as far as the division of soul and spirit, of both joints and marrow, and able to judge the thoughts and intentions of the heart.
If you have just accepted Jesus Christ, I want to be the first to welcome you into the kingdom and fellowship of God. WOW, that is so awesome.
